Power Potential

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy uses water-based exercise to support rehabilitation, mobility and functional recovery in a controlled, low-impact environment.

The natural buoyancy of water reduces load on joints and injured tissues, allowing you to move more comfortably while improving strength, balance and cardiovascular fitness. This makes hydrotherapy suitable for post-operative rehabilitation, musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, neurological conditions and individuals who require supported movement.

At Power Potential, hydrotherapy programs are individually prescribed and supervised by our physiotherapists or exercise physiologists, with exercises progressed based on your clinical goals and functional outcomes.

Why It Matters for You

Warm water provides therapeutic and physiological benefits that support recovery and overall wellbeing:

  • Reduced joint load, allowing movement with less pain and discomfort
  • Muscle relaxation and reduced tension through gentle heat
  • Improved circulation to support tissue healing and recovery
  • Increased joint mobility and range of motion
  • Improved strength, balance and functional movement in a safe environment
  • Enhanced relaxation, which may support recovery and sleep quality

Hydrotherapy allows earlier movement and exercise when land-based training may be difficult or painful.

How Hydrotherapy Supports NDIS & Workers Compensation Clients

Hydrotherapy is commonly used to support functional recovery and independence for clients funded through NDIS and Workers Compensation.

For these clients, hydrotherapy programs focus on:

  • Improving functional capacity for daily activities and return to work
  • Supporting recovery following workplace injury or surgery
  • Managing chronic pain or long-term physical conditions
  • Improving mobility, strength and confidence with movement
  • Progressing toward independence and participation goals (NDIS)
  • Meeting rehabilitation and return-to-work requirements (Workers Compensation)

Our team works closely with case managers, support coordinators, insurers and treating doctors to provide progress reports and ensure programs align with your approved goals and outcomes.
